For over 50 years, the Cercle Français has been running regular meetings to promote and encourage an interest in France, its language and culture. We are affiliated with the Alliance Française which supports our goals. Regular monthly meetings offer a variety of entertaining talks and activities to suit everyone: illustrated conferences, quizzes, social gatherings. Members say that it is an ideal way to meet other francophiles and francophones!
Mrs Oakshott, the Cercle's current Vice President, says that there are many benefits to being a member: it's not just about listening to speakers, but also having a go yourself and keeping up your skills. You don't have to be fluent, but anyone joining should have an understanding of French as all the meetings are conducted "en français"
